"I never make sketches. Never paint on location. Never take photos. Instead, I wander through this vast geological wonderland of the Southwest and watch as the setting sun illuminates a proud Mesa that was lost in cloud shadow only moments before. The emptiness......empty? Can't you feel The People come rushing across the years like whispers on the wind? Their spirits race on silent hoofed ponies and the canyons ring with their laughter and tears. The women weave the cloth and the Shaman weave the dreams.... and I paint the essence of it all. Like The People, I feel the oneness with this enchanted land... and paint the essence of it all." Kemishean
